Every provider in the ranking is scored from 1 to 10 on the same six criteria, and the overall score is the plain average. The inputs are published sources only: plan pages, terms, refund policies and app store listings.
The six criteria
| Criterion | What raises the score | What lowers it |
|---|---|---|
| Destination coverage | Many countries, plus regional and global plans | Gaps in common destinations, no multi-country plans |
| Plan choice | Fixed and unlimited options, top-ups on the same eSIM, long-term plans | One plan shape, new install for every top-up |
| Unlimited and hotspot rules | Thresholds disclosed, hotspot allowed | Undisclosed limits, tight daily hotspot caps |
| Ways to pay | Cards, wallets and crypto | Cards only |
| Setup without paperwork | No identity check to buy, simple install | ID verification for basic plans |
| Refunds and support | Written refund cases, stated support hours, clear timelines | Vague or missing refund terms |
When a provider does not publish a detail
If a provider's own pages do not state something, such as hotspot rules or how it handles refunds, we do not guess. That criterion gets a neutral middle score rather than a penalty or a bonus, and the review card says what was not found.
What the scores do not measure
We do not measure speed. A travel eSIM runs on partner networks, and speed changes by country, city, building and hour; TonMobile's terms, for example, state that the provider does not control the network itself. We also do not score price, because prices change by destination and week. Check both in the app for your exact trip.
Updates
We recheck the ranking when providers change plans or terms. The date at the top of each page shows the last check. Scores are on the provider ranking.
